Week of April 28, 2014

Reminders:
1. These are a few reminders concerning homework and classwork:
              
A. All work must be completed in blue or black ink (other colors will not be accepted).  

B. If the assignment states that looseleaf is to be used, no other types of paper will be accepted (paper ripped out of notebooks or legal pads is unacceptable).
   
C. Homework must be handed in on the day due, unless I receive a not from a parent explaining why you did not complete your HW. This will only be accepted if there is an emergency at home (not because you were too tired or that you had too much other HW). 

D. Homework and classwork must be neat. Work that is sloppy or illegible will not be accepted.

E. All students should bring at least 3-4 sharpened pencils to school this week for the Math Exam. Make sure that the pencils have clean erasers.

Remember that homework and classwork count as a grade!

HOMEWORK: For the Week of April 28- Unit 6 Week 1

Grade 5 will be reading Walk Two Moons by Sharon Creech for Unit 6. Bull Run should have been finished during the Easter Vacation.



Homework:

Monday- Read Chapters 1-7 in Walk Two Moons.

Tuesday- Reading Vocabulary and Questions will be due next Wednesday, May 7.

Week of April 7, 2014

Reminders:

D. Homework and classwork must be neat. Work that is sloppy or illegible will not be accepted.

E. All students should bring a shopping bag (preferably a heavy bag or 2) by Tuesday, so they can pack up the books that they will not be bringing home over the Easter vacation. They have a lot of notebooks and textbooks to be packed up so the bag(s) should be strong enough to hold all of them. All of the desks will be cleaned, so nothing may remain in the desks.

F. Thursday, April 10 there will be a 12:00 dismissal. Parent Conferences will take place between the hours of 2:00-7:00. If you child does not receive his/her Report Card in school, please come ad meet with the teachers during the above hours.

G. Friday, April 11 there will be an 11:00 dismissal due to a Teacher’s Workshop. There will be Stations of the Cross at 8:30 followed by an Honors Assembly (check your child’s Report Card to see if they will receive an award). After the Honors Assembly, we will have a small Easter Party (5th grade). Please let your child know what they can bring in to share with the class. The children may wear dress clothes. If you have any questions, please send me a note.
