WEEKLY REMINDERS:

GRADE 7-HOMEROOM

A. Please sign in to Google Classroom and press on the link for Zoom. You will stay connected from 8:00-3:00. Whatever teacher you have will let you know if you have a bathroom break or lunch break. Please read Mr. Woods’ blog for rules about remote learning (home). Attendance will be taken during each class. This link will be good for the rest of the school year (2020-2021).

B. Remember to wear a mask and bring your supplies each day.

C. I will be setting up times to speak with parents via Zoom on November 13. This is regarding the First Quarter Report Card for ELA and Social Studies. The Report Card will be sent home on Thursday, 11/12, or emailed to the remote students' school email address. 

These are the available times that I will speak to parents (1:10, 1:20, 1:30, 1:40, 1:50, 2:00, 2:10, 2:20, 2:30, 2:40, 2:50, 3:00, 3:10, 3:20, 3:30, 3:40, 3:50, 4:00, 4:10, 4:20, 4:30, 4:40, 4:50, 5:00, 5:10, 5:20, 5:30, 5:40, 5:50). 

Please choose a time and email me at mstoscano@olqmnyc.org. First come, first serve! All appointments are limited to ten minutes. If you are late or miss your time, I will not be able to speak to you that evening.

D. October 30 (Friday) The children of Grade 7 will be allowed to wear their costumes for the celebration of Halloween. Of course, they must still wear a regular mask that covers their whole mouth and nose.

Each student is asked to bring in $5 for pizza. Each student should also bring a bag of chips or cookies and something for themselves to drink.

***If you will not be attending school on Friday, please let me know tomorrow so that I can make changes. There will be regular classes in the morning, so the students should still have bookbags. Dismissal will be at 3:00.

E. The 7th grade will be hosting the Mass on Wednesday @ 9:00 in honor of Sts. Jude and Simon. Parents are welcome to attend.

F. If your child must leave school early or come in late due to an appointment, please have them attend classes from home.

****I am allowing some students to redo last week’s assignments. You were told to use the notes to define or explain the terms and many of you did not follow the directions. I asked you to use the notes so you would also be reviewing for the Chapter 1 Test which is next week. Do not use the Discovery Education textbook for the definitions…only the notes. This will be due on Friday, October 23 (no extensions). This is not one of the two assignments for this week. If you choose to not redo, the grade will remain as is.

I asked you to use the notes so you would also be reviewing for the Chapter 1 Test which is next week. Do not use the Discovery Education textbook for the answers…only the notes. Some students are also copying from each other. Any students that copies work will be given a zero and no chance to make it up (the person that lends their work will also be given a zero. That also goes for plagiarizing. I spoke to the same students last year about this. I will also be contacting your parents again, so they will be aware of this.

This is not one of the two assignments for this week. If you choose not to redo the assignment, the grade will remain as is. This will be due on Friday, October 23 (no extensions).
