Week of October 7, 2013

Reminders:
1. All school supplies should be in by now. Points will be deducted from Conduct Grades for not following school rules.

2. All parent signature forms should have been handed in by last Friday.

3. As stated on last week's blog, these are a few reminders concerning homework and classwork:
              
A. All work must be completed in blue or black ink (other colors will not be accepted).  

B. If the assignment states that looseleaf is to be used, no other types of paper will be accepted (paper ripped out of notebooks or legal pads is unacceptable.
   
C. Homework must be handed in on the day due, unless I receive a not from a parent explaining why you did not complete your HW. This will only be accepted if there is an emergency at home (not because you were too tired or that you had too much other HW). 

D. Homework and classwork must be neat. Work that is sloppy or illegible will not be accepted.

E. Remember to cover the Reading Workbook. If the cover is ripped, please put cardboard or some type of backing to reinforce it.

4. Thursday is Gym for the 5th Grade. Remember to wear Gym uniform.

5. Remember that Monday is extended day for Math for 5th Grade- 3:00-5:00

6. Friday, 10/11 there is a 12:00 Dismissal due to a Faculty Meeting.

7. No school on Monday, 10/14 due to Columbus Day!

Remember that homework and classwork count as a grade!

Click the link below and that will open to the vocabulary words. This must be done in the Reading NB in pen (blue or black). Skip a line between each word. Due on Wednesday, 10/9.

Wednesday- Answer the questions 4 questions below on looseleaf. Make sure you add details from the text and answer the questions completely. Due on Friday, 10/11

Monday-Define the words below in your Social Studies Vocabulary NB using your textbook and the glossary in back of the Social Studies text. Make sure that you put the date, unit, and week on the top of the page. This must be done in pen (blue or black) and skip a line between each word. Points will be deducted for not following directions. Due on Thursday, 10/10.

Wednesday- SS Textbook- Read pages 34- 39.  On page 39, answer questions 1-3.  Complete on looseleaf. You may restate the question in the answer. Make sure that you have a full heading, page number and subject on the looseleaf. Points will be deducted for not following directions.
Due Friday, 10/11.

Map of the Month is due on Wednesday, Oct. 9. No extensions!!!!!!

****Spanish Heritage Project due Monday, Oct. 7 which is today. You may do a PowerPoint (minimum of 7 slides with a resource page or a poster with a typed report (minimum of 2 pages).
***If you are bringing food on Friday, please make a sign with your name, class, name of the food, and where it comes from, so we can label everything.
