Week of February 3, 2014


Reminders:
1. These are a few reminders concerning homework and classwork:
              
A. All work must be completed in blue or black ink (other colors will not be accepted).  

B. If the assignment states that looseleaf is to be used, no other types of paper will be accepted (paper ripped out of notebooks or legal pads is unacceptable.
   
C. Homework must be handed in on the day due, unless I receive a not from a parent explaining why you did not complete your HW. This will only be accepted if there is an emergency at home (not because you were too tired or that you had too much other HW). 

D. Homework and classwork must be neat. Work that is sloppy or illegible will not be accepted

2. Reading Quiz on Friday, 2/7- Grades 7 and 8
Reading Quiz on Monday, 2/10- Grades 5 and 6       
Social Studies Quiz on Monday, 2/10- Grades 7 and 8

 3. The Final Archdiocesan Interim Assessment for ELA will be next Weds. 2/12.
       
Remember that homework and classwork count as a grade!

Read Chapters 1-5.

Due Thursday, 2/6.

 Wednesday- Answer the Reading Questions on looseleaf. You may restate the question in your answer. Due Friday 2/7.

*****Unit 4- We are reading The Freed0m Train: The Story of Harriet Tubman by Dorothy Sterling. Please read Chapters 1-5 (finish up to page 58).


Homework:

Monday- copy Reading Vocabulary into Reading Vocabulary Notebook (Unit 4 Weeks 1 and 2). Due Tuesday, 2/4. This is the Vocabulary that was added on Friday, 1/31.

Wednesday: Answer questions for The Freedom Train on looseleaf. You may restate the question in the answer (sentence form). Due Friday, 2/7.




There will be a quiz on Monday, 2/10 on Vocabulary Words (Weeks of 1/20 and 1/27) and Chapters 1-5 of the book.
