Week of December 7, 2015

Reminders:

These are a few reminders concerning homework and classwork: 

A. All work must be completed in blue or black ink (other colors will not be accepted).  

B. If the assignment states that looseleaf is to be used, no other types of paper will be accepted (paper ripped out of notebooks or legal pads is unacceptable).
   
C. Homework must be handed in on the day due unless I receive a note from a parent explaining why you did not complete your HW. This will only be accepted if there is an emergency at home (not because you were too tired or that you had too much other HW). 

D. Homework and classwork must be neat. Work that is sloppy or illegible will not be accepted.

E. Please cover all textbooks and workbooks. A clear plastic cover is suggested.

F. Gym uniforms must be worn by 5th graders on Wednesdays for gym.

G. Students in the 5th grade will have extended day classes each Tuesday from 3:00-5:00 for Math. 

H. There will be a 3:00 dismissal on Friday, December 11. All students must be in full uniform that day- no regular clothes (no sneakers or boots).

I. There will be a 12:00 dismissal on Monday, December 14 due to a Faculty Meeting.

H. Please check the blog daily for updated homework assignments or notifications.

Remember that homework and classwork count as a grade!

Homework for Grade 5:

The 5th Grade is reading Investigating the Scientific Method with Max Axiom, Super Scientist and The Boy Who Invented TV: The Story of Philo Farnsworth for Module 2.

Reading Vocabulary for the week will be listed and defined in the Reading Vocabulary notebook. All vocabulary words should be written on index cards by the end of the week. The vocabulary word should be written on the front of the card with Module 2 written in the lower right corner. The definition from the notebook should be written neatly on the back of the card. Remember these cards count as a grade! Due every Monday!

In your Social Studies textbook, answer the following questions on looseleaf: page 103 #s 1b, 2a, 2b, 3b, 4a. Make sure your looseleaf has a full heading with page numbers. Due on Friday, 12/11

Map of the Month due Wednesday, 12/9

Weekend HW: 500-word essay on The French and Indian War. What was the cause, who was involved, how was it resolved. The essay must be typed double spaced, 12 font, New Times Roman. The paper must be printed out and handed in on Monday, 12/14. You must attach a bibliography of all the sources that you use when writing the paper. You may only use your textbook as a guide.
No plagiarizing! No extensions!

The 8th Grade is reading A Midsummer Night’s Dream for Module 2. Some students have still not purchased the book.

You must attach a bibliography of all the sources that you use when writing the paper. You can use your textbook pages 619-623 as a guide, but must use the internet for your information.
