Weekly Reminders:
GRADE 4-HOMEROOM

A. Gym uniforms must be worn by 4th graders on Mondays and Tuesdays for gym unless students are told differently.

B. Please sign and return any papers that were sent home in your child’s folder. The vision paper only needs to be returned if you do not want your child’s vision tested. If you are interested in selling candy bars, they are available from Mrs. Resto in the tuition office.

C. There will be a 12:00 dismissal today due to a Faculty Meeting. The ASP will be in session.

D. Make sure to read Mr. Woods blog for other important information.

GRADES 6, 7, 8  
A. All classwork/homework must be completed in blue or black ink (other colors will not be accepted).  

B. If an assignment states that looseleaf is to be used, no other types of paper will be accepted (paper ripped out of notebooks or legal pads is unacceptable).
   
C. Homework must be handed in on the day due unless I receive a note from a parent explaining why you did not complete your HW. This will only be accepted if there is an emergency at home (not because you were too tired or that you had too much other HW). 

D. Homework and classwork must be neat. Work that is sloppy or illegible will not be accepted.

E. Remember homework counts as part of the total grade!

My Perspectives (Pearson)- Please review (in your textbook or online in Pearson Realize) the story, vocabulary, and concepts (word study and conventions) that we are working on in class. We will be taking a baseline assessment this week to find your Lexile level.

I will be assigning homework in class for ELA since we will be using Pearson, Voyages, Common Lit, and No Red Ink.

Social Studies Homework for Grade 6

Unit 1 Early Humankind/ Chapter 1: The World’s Early People

Monday,9/23: Write definitions for the words below in your Social Studies Vocabulary NB, Due Thursday, 9/26. The definitions can be found in the glossary or on the page listed next to the word listed below. Read pages 30-39 in your textbook.

Complete page 2 in your Homework and Practice Book on loose-leaf. Write each question and then the answer. There are eight questions in all. Due Friday, 9/27.

Chapter 1 notes will be due Monday,9/30.

Hispanic Heritage Month -begin to research the person you chose to present. The information is posted in Google Classroom. The project is due on Monday, October 7.
