WEEKLY REMINDERS:
GRADE 4 -HOMEROOM
A. Please bring a package of masks to school to have each day.
B. Dismissal time will now be 2:45 PM for all students.
C. The Title I Program. The schedule is as follows: 2:45-4:30
Mondays
and Tuesdays- Kindergarten, Grades 2, 7, and 8
Wednesdays
and Thursdays- Grades 1, 3, 4, 5, 6
D. This week Gym will be on Thursday due to no school on Friday.
Stations
of the Cross will be @ 11:30 AM.
E. Please send in a plastic shopping bag by next Tuesday, 3/28 to pack up the books that your child will leave in school during the Easter Vacation.
F. Friday, 3/24- School will be closed due to a teachers’ active shooter training.
G. Friday, March 31 Grade 4 will be having an Easter Party. Pizza will be $5 for whoever wants it. The children may also bring in their own lunch if they prefer. More information will be posted on next week’s blog.
H. Please sign your child's Progress Report handed out on Thursday. I will check the signature and send it back to you.

Week of March 20, 2023- Things we will be working on:
ELA/Reading-Grade 2
Ready Gen (savvasrealize.com)-We will be working on Unit 3. We will be reviewing short vowel sounds, syllabication, nouns, making sentences, and writing paragraphs. The children should review when to use a capital letter and punctuation at the end of the sentence. The children have received the vocabulary words for the stories in Unit 3, Module A. We will be reviewing these words in class, and they should review them at home (a few each night). See the class notebook (back of the book).
Please make sure that your child
reads for 20 minutes each night, including weekends. This is important and a
big part of their reading homework. You can
choose any book that you want, and children can read alone or read with parents.
Both ways are equally helpful. Try and ask your child questions about the story
and discuss details with them. It is important
for them to bring a book to school every day to read in school for silent
reading. It can be the same book that he/she is reading at home or a different
book. We are trying to build fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension skills.
****The Edgenuity Program: The
children should be working on ELA for twenty minutes every night, including
weekends. This will help to practice for the MAP testing in May.
All homework will be assigned on Google Classroom.
Directions and due dates will be given. Please make sure that your child
completes all assignments. If there is nothing assigned in Google Classroom,
then your child should read for 20 minutes and complete 20 minutes of Edgenuity
for ELA.
Science Grade 2
The students will be working on Unit 3, Concept 3.1. See Google
Classroom for any HW. New vocabulary words will be posted on Google Classroom.
The children should write them in their Science Notebook.
