Reminders:

1. Please check Mr. Woods’ blog for information concerning Report Cards, the NY State Exams, and other announcements.

2. The fifth graders need to wear gym uniforms every Wednesday.

3. Please check the blog and Google Classroom for updated homework assignments or announcements.

4. NYS ELA exam will be administered starting next Tuesday, 3/28. Please make sure that your child is working on iReady and Achieve 3000.

Remember that homework and classwork count as a grade!

READING:

For Module 3, the fifth grade is reading Promises to Keep: How Jackie Robinson Changed America by Sharon Robinson.

Please finish Jackie Robinson if you have not already done so. If you have finished, please read any book of your choice (but I want to see something!).

Achieve 3000 and iReady – Remember to complete any Activities, Thought
Question, or Lessons assigned during the week.

Mr. Woods has assigned one lesson in iReady every night from 3/20 until 3/30 (11 lessons should be logged into iReady when Mr. Woods checks the folders).

Write all new vocabulary on index cards.

Make sure that you have copied the vocabulary from the link on last week’s blog into your Reading NB. Then copy them onto index cards by Monday, 3/20. Both will be checked on Monday.

Finish classwork if not finished during class (check reading folder or Ready New York).

SOCIAL STUDIES:

Monday: Define and review the vocabulary words listed below in your Social Studies notebook. Due Wednesday, March 22.

Vocabulary for the Week:
charter, dissent, expel, consent, sedition, frontier

Tuesday: Read pages 198-204.Answer questions 1, 2, 3, and 5 on page 204. Restate the question in the answer. Draw the map on the back of your loose-leaf or you can use a new piece of paper. Due Thursday, March 23.

Map of the Month (Flags) is due on this Wednesday, March 22.
