Weekly Reminders:
GRADE 4-HOMEROOM

A. Gym uniforms must be worn by 4th graders on Wednesdays for gym unless students are told differently.

B. Individual school pictures on November 6. Please return the envelope with the money to Mrs. Resto by today (Monday). If your child is taking a picture, they must wear dress up clothes. No jeans or sneakers. The may also wear their school uniform. If your child is not taking a picture, they are to wear their uniform.

C. We will be collecting canned food during November for the Outreach Program of the St. Patrick’s Nursing Home. Please be as generous as possible. The last day that cans will be collected will be Tuesday, November 20.

D. Make sure to read Mr. Woods blog for other important information.

Monday,11/5: Study Chapter 2 notes for the Test Tomorrow. Please also know some information about the Mayans for the essay question. You will need to study your textbook for this.

Tuesday,11/6:  Define each word below in your Social Studies Vocabulary NB. Please use the glossary in the back of the SS text and write the entire definition. If it isn’t in the book, you can search for it online. Just make sure the definition goes with what we are discussing. Due Thursday, 11/8

Wednesday,11/7: Read pages 110-117 in the Social Studies textbook. On loose-leaf, answer the following questions. You may restate the question in the answer. All answers can be found on the pages you are reading this week in your textbook.  Due Friday, 11/9

2. What were the aims of Prince Henry’s school of navigation?
3. How did Columbus persuade the king and queen of Spain to support his expedition?
4. What problems did Columbus and his crew face?
5. What did Columbus find on his 1492 voyage?
