WEEKLY REMINDERS:

GRADE 4 -HOMEROOM

A. Remember to wear a mask and bring your supplies each day.

B. Remember Gym class is every Friday, so wear your gym uniform.

C. The Title I Program. The schedule is as follows:

Mondays and Tuesdays- Kindergarten, Grades 2, 7, and 8

Wednesdays and Thursdays- Grades 1, 3, 4, 5, 6

D. Wednesday, 12/21- 4th Grade will be having a Christmas Party after Lessons and Carols. There will be the same rules as the Halloween Party. They must wear whatever Ms. Alma tells them to wear for Lessons and Carols. They can bring $5 if they want pizza (if not, they can bring their own lunch) and they will have to bring something to share with the class. We will decide later in the week what each child will bring in to share. Let your child know ahead of time what they can volunteer to bring in for the party.

E. Every child will need to bring in a large plastic bag by next Monday,12/19 to pack up the books that they will be leaving in school over the Christmas Vacation. Everyone will have to remove all the books from their desks, and we will pack them away in the bags, so that the desks may be cleaned and sanitized. Anything that you would like your child to bring home to study or work on over the vacation, please let them know before Monday so that it is not packed away. Any child who does not bring in a bag, will have to bring everything home for the vacation.

F. Make sure to read Mr. Woods’ blog for other important information.

HOMEWORK: For the Week of December 12,2022

ELA/Reading Homework for Grade 2

Ready Gen (savvasrealize.com)-We will be working on Unit 2. We will be reviewing short vowel sounds, syllabication, making sentences, and writing paragraphs. The children should review when to use a capital letter and punctuation at the end of the sentence. The children received new vocabulary words for the stories in Unit 2. We will be reviewing these words in class, and they should review them at home (a few each night).

Please make sure that your child reads for 20 minutes each night. This is important and a big part of their reading homework. You can choose any book that you want, and children can read alone or read with parents. Both ways are equally helpful. Try and ask your child questions about the story and discuss details with them. It is important for them to bring a book to school every day to read in school for silent reading. It can be the same book that he/she is reading at home or a different book. We are trying to build fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension skills.

****The Edgenuity Program is now working properly. The children should be working on ELA for twenty minutes every night.

All homework will be assigned on Google Classroom. Directions and due dates will be given. Please make sure that your child completes all assignments. If there is nothing assigned in Google Classroom, then your child should read for 20 minutes and complete 20 minutes of Edgenuity for ELA.

All assignments must be submitted by the date due, or points will be deducted from the grade.

****Also make sure that your child has all necessary supplies each day including masks, sharpened pencils, looseleaf, notebooks, folders, highlighters, colored pencils, etc.

Science Homework for Grade 2
