GRADE 4-HOMEROOM

A. Gym uniforms must be worn by 4th graders on Wednesdays for gym unless students are told differently.

B. Hispanic Heritage Music Presentation for Grades 4-8 on Thursday @9:00AM. All parents are invited.

C. No school on Monday, 10/15- Data Day

D. Make sure to read Mr. Woods blog for other important information.

Tuesday,10/9: Define each word below in your Social Studies Vocabulary NB. Please use the glossary in the back of the SS text and write the entire definition. If it isn’t in the book, you can search for it online. Just make sure the definition goes with what we are discussing. Due Thursday, 10/11

Wednesday,10/10: Read pages 51-59 in the Social Studies textbook. On loose-leaf, answer the following questions. You may restate the question in the answer. Due Friday, 10/12

2. How did the Native Americans pass on their history?
3. How did farming change life for people?
4. How were the Mayan and Olmec civilizations alike?
5. Describe the civilization of the Mound Builders.

This week we will be discussing memoirs and poetry. We will also be discussing personal and nonfiction narratives and continue to review types of nouns.
My Perspectives (Pearson)- Please review (in your textbook or online at Pearson Realize) the story, vocabulary, and concepts (word study and conventions) that we are working on in class.

Tuesday 10/9- Review new vocabulary listed in ELA notebook. Also review common, proper, abstract, concrete nouns. Review mistakes on the Grammar Quiz.

Wednesday 10/10 Voyages Practice Book- page 10 #s 1-22 (odd numbers only). Please complete in your notebook with the date, name of the book and page, and the Aim. Due on Friday, 10/12.
