GRADE 2 -HOMEROOM

A. Remember to wear a mask and bring your school supplies each day.

B. Gym is every Friday, so remember to wear your gym uniform.

D. Title 1 Catapult Schedule:

Grades 1, 3, 6, 7 & 8 Mondays and Wednesdays 3:15-5:00

Grades K, 2, 4, and 5 Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:15-5:00

 

E. All students must enter through the lunchroom in the morning and come to class from there. No one can enter through the church or main door (where the bell is located).

ELA/Reading Homework for Grade 2

 

Ready Gen (savvasrealize.com)- We will be reviewing short and long vowel sounds, consonant blends, and digraphs this week. We will continue to review nouns, capitalization, punctuation, and different types of sentences- statements, questions, and exclamations.

 

We will be reviewing skills to prepare for MAP testing next week.

 

All assignments must be submitted on the date due, or points will be deducted from the grade.

Also make sure that your child has all necessary supplies each day, including sharpened pencils, looseleaf, notebooks, folders, highlighters, colored pencils, etc.

***Homework will be assigned this week on Google Classroom.

Please have your child bring a book to read to school for when they complete their work early. It is important for comprehension, vocabulary development and fluency for your child to read independently.

Please study the vocabulary words and notes for Unit 3 Concept 3.2 in the Science Notebook. There will be a test this Friday, April 29.

F. Parents, I have everyone's shopping bags for the Easter break. Please let me know or your child know what books you would like him/her to bring home so that we do not pack them away for the break. You can send me a note or an email. Shopping bags should be brought in by Thursday, 4/7.

 

G. Tuesday, 4/2 the children will be attending the 9:00 AM Mass. There will be an Honors Assembly following the Mass. All parents are invited to attend. I will let the children know if they will be receiving Honors tomorrow.

I. Please return the lenten rice bowl boxes by Thursday or Friday of this week. These boxes were distributed the last week in February.


J. On Friday,4/8. the 2nd grade will be having a small Easter party. Scarlett's mom has offered to buy the children pizza, so the kids that want to have pizza do not have to bring their lunch. Each child should bring something to drink for himself/herself and a treat to share with the class (cupcakes, cookies, or donuts). They do not need to wear their uniforms but they must dress up.. They should also bring their book bags because we will be having classes in the morning. The children may bring their handheld electronic games (nothing big). Please email me with any questions.
