Week of December 17, 2018

Weekly Reminders:
GRADE 4-HOMEROOM

A. Gym uniforms must be worn by 4th graders on Wednesdays for gym unless students are told differently.

B. All students need to have a large plastic shopping bag (like the large ones sold in Marshalls or TJ Maxx for $1) today (Monday) to pack the books that they will not be taking home for the Christmas break. Please let your child know what you would like them to bring home to review during the break so that we do not pack them up. The books must be packed and put away so that the classrooms can be cleaned. Please do not send in garbage bags or plastic bags from the supermarket.

C. Tuesday, 12/18- There will be a cake sale sponsored by the 7th and 8th grades. The children can bring money if they would like to buy some cake or cookies.

D. Wednesday,12/19 Lessons and Carols 8:30 AM in the church. Each class will perform a song. All parents are invited to attend. Children can wear dress clothes green, white, or red (Christmas colors).

E. Wednesday,12/19- Class Christmas Party- We will be ordering pizza. Any child that wants pizza, please bring in $3 by tomorrow (Tuesday). If your child doesn’t want pizza, they can bring their lunch. Each child should bring something to drink for themselves and something to share with their classmates (cookies, cupcakes, donuts, etc.). The children do not need their bookbags but should bring some type of bag to carry anything extra home.

1. You should have already interviewed the person that you will be writing about. You will be graded on the questions and answers, the draft of your writing, and your final copy that will be typed on google classroom. This will be due on Monday, January 7.

2. Please finish reading The Sea of Monsters over the Christmas break.

3.My Perspectives (Pearson)- Start reviewing vocabulary words and the stories we have read for the Midterm Exam. Remember Midterm Exams is two weeks after we return in January.

4. Voyages- Review nouns and pronouns (only what we have completed).

5. Map Skills assignments- You have been assigned Map skills to complete during the break. This will be counted in your grade. Remember MAP testing is scheduled for when we return in January.

Tuesday and Weds.12/11,12/12: Study the notes/text for Chapter 3 (Numbers 75-115). Test on Thursday.

Start interviewing the person you chose to write and biography about. The answers to the questions are due on Thursday, 12/12. Please write each question and the person’s response in your notebook. Skip a line between each question.
