Dear Parents and Students,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all of your support and dedication throughout the years. It has been my pleasure to work with you. I wish you all the very best as you transition to your new schools in September.  Children, remember to read every day, because this will help you with all of the other subjects.

May God give you many blessings and may Our Lady Queen of Martyrs always guide and protect you!

Week of June 5, 2023- Things we will be working on:

ELA/Reading-Grade 2

Ready Gen (savvasrealize.com)-We will be working on Unit 4. We will be reviewing short and long vowel sounds, consonant blends, syllabication, making sentences, nouns, verbs, and writing paragraphs. The children should review when to use a capital letter and punctuation at the end of the sentence.

Please make sure that your child reads for 20 minutes each night, including weekends. This is important and a big part of their reading homework. You can choose any book that you want, and children can read alone or read with parents. Both ways are equally helpful. Try and ask your child questions about the story and discuss details with them. It is important for them to bring a book to school every day to read in school for silent reading. It can be the same book that he/she is reading at home or a different book. We are trying to build fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension skills.

****The Edgenuity Program: The children should be working on ELA Edgenuity 2-3 times per week.

All homework will be assigned on Google Classroom. Directions and due dates will be given. Please make sure that your child completes all assignments. If there is nothing assigned in Google Classroom, then your child should read for 20 minutes and complete 20 minutes of Edgenuity for ELA.

Science Grade 2

Please sign the Unit 3 Test and return tomorrow.
