Week of November 4, 2013

Reminders:
1. These are a few reminders concerning homework and classwork:
              
A. All work must be completed in blue or black ink (other colors will not be accepted).  

B. If the assignment states that looseleaf is to be used, no other types of paper will be accepted (paper ripped out of notebooks or legal pads is unacceptable.
   
C. Homework must be handed in on the day due, unless I receive a not from a parent explaining why you did not complete your HW. This will only be accepted if there is an emergency at home (not because you were too tired or that you had too much other HW). 

D. Homework and classwork must be neat. Work that is sloppy or illegible will not be accepted.

E. Remember to cover the Reading Workbook. If the cover is ripped, please put cardboard or some type of backing to reinforce it. Your child is responsible for all books that belong to the school.

2. Monday is extended day Math for 5th Grade.

3. Tuesday, 11/5 is Class Picture Day. All students are to be in full school uniform (no gym uniforms- people in greenhouse or science club may bring their gym clothes in a bag.

 4. Thursday, 11/7 is dress down day. Students may wear whatever they would like. no NUT cards are needed.

5. No school Friday, 11/8 (Teacher’s Conference Day) and Monday, 11/11 (Veterans Day)

6. Today begins Quarter 2- All grades will now be counted for the 2nd Quarter.

Remember that homework and classwork count as a grade!

2.  For 5th grade only-Thursday is Halloween and we will be having a party in the afternoon. The children want to order pizza, so they will need to bring in $3.00 by Wednesday. They have also volunteered to bring in something to share with the class. Please ask them what they chose to bring in. They may wear their costumes to school, but will still need to bring their bookbags.

3. Monday is extended day Math for 5th Grade.
