Week of September 6, 2010: 7th Grade Reading and Social Studies

We will be reviewing basic vocabulary and comprehension skills for the first few weeks of school. Your child should have received a Reading Textbook and Skills Practice Book. We will be reading the first story called "Blues Busters". The vocabulary words for this story will be written in the Reading NB.
Your child should have also received a Social Studies Textbook and Workbook. We will be starting Chapter one this week and will be discussing Tools for Studying History. Vocabulary and notes will be written in the Social Studies NB.
Homework for Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010
On looseleaf, complete Checkup Questions 1- 4 on page 9 of the S.S. textbook. Remember to have a complete heading on top of your looseleaf. Be sure to look back in your text for the answers. Late, sloppy, incomplete, or incorrect HW will result in points being deducted from your assignment. You must rewrite the questions as part of your answer. Do not write the question out as a question. This will be demonstrated in class on Thursday.
Copying and assignment from another student will result in both students getting a grade of zero, so don't lend anyone your HW!!!!!
Your child should have all school supplies by tomorrow, Friday!
