Week of March 14, 2016

Reminders:

These are a few reminders concerning homework and classwork:

A. All work must be completed in blue or black ink (other colors will not be accepted).  

B. If the assignment states that looseleaf is to be used, no other types of paper will be accepted (paper ripped out of notebooks or legal pads is unacceptable).
   
C. Homework must be handed in on the day due, unless I receive a note from a parent explaining why you did not complete your HW. This will only be accepted if there is an emergency at home (not because you were too tired or that you had too much other HW). 

D. Homework and classwork must be neat. Work that is sloppy or illegible will not be accepted.

E. Gym uniforms must be worn by 5th graders on Wednesdays for gym.

F. There will be a trip to Mother Cabrini Chapel on Tuesday, 3/15. Please sign the permission slip if you give your child permission to attend. All students must be in full uniform.

H. Please have your child bring a large cloth shopping bag to school by Thursday, so he/she can pack the books that will be staying in school over the Easter Vacation. Please let your child know what books you would like him/her to bring home to study during the break.

Monday March 14, 2016 - ELA- English Language Arts
Tuesday March 15, 2016 - Trip to Mother Cabrini Shrine for the Year of Mercy 
Wednesday March 16, 2016 - Mathematics and Religion
Thursday March 17, 2016 - Reading and Science
Friday March 18, 2016 -
Social Studies 

J. Thursday, March 17- Al students may wear green in honor of St. Patrick’s Day!

K. On Friday, March 18 the 5th grade will be having a party after lunch. Your child should bring in something to drink for himself/herself, and also bring in something to share with the class. Please let your child know what you will be sending in so everyone is not bringing in the same thing.

L. Prayer Service at 9:00 AM on Friday, 3/18. Easter Vacation begins at dismissal (3:00 PM). No afterschool program on Friday!

Remember that homework and classwork count as a grade!

Review for Module 3b Exam: Thursday, 3/17
Study all Module 3 Vocabulary which is on index cards.

Review all worksheets in the Reading Folder for Module 3b.

Ready New York (looseleaf) pgs.43-49. Write all Multiple Choice questions with the correct answer- letter and answer! For the short response questions and the extended response, follow the directions in the book. Remember that you can look in the Table of Contents if there is something you do not understand.

Due Monday, April 4, 2016 (the day we return from vacation). This will count as a project grade and there are no extensions!!!!!!
