Week of September 12, 2016

Reminders:
These are a few reminders concerning homework and classwork: 
A. All school supplies should have been in today.
B. Please return parent signature papers by Wednesday, 9/14.          
C. All work must be completed in blue or black ink (other colors will not be accepted).  

D. If the assignment states that looseleaf is to be used, no other types of paper will be accepted (paper ripped out of notebooks or legal pads are unacceptable).
   
E. Homework must be handed in on the day due unless I receive a note from a parent explaining why you did not complete your HW. This will only be accepted if there is an emergency at home (not because you were too tired or that you had too much other HW). 

F. Homework and classwork must be neat. Work that is sloppy or illegible will not be accepted.

G. Gym uniforms must be worn by 5th graders on Wednesdays for gym.

H. The Opening School Mass is Thursday at 9:00AM. All parents are invited.

I. Friday, 9/16- There is a 12:00 dismissal due to a Faculty Meeting. The ASP will be in session.

***J. Extended Day classes will begin next week. The fifth grade will attend extended day class for Math on Tuesday with Mr. Placido and on Wednesday for ELA with Ms. Serewko. The classes will begin at 3:00 and finish at 5:00.

K. NY State scores were sent home with our child today. It should be in their Reading folder. Please read it carefully!

L. Please check the blog daily for updated homework assignments or notifications.

Remember that homework and classwork count as a grade!

Write all new vocabulary on index cards. The word should be written on the front of the card in large print. Module 1 should also be written on the bottom right corner on the front of the card. The definition should be written on the back of the card. All cards must be kept in a Ziploc bag. Words will not be accepted if they are not in a bag!

Reading Vocabulary for the week will be listed in the Reading Vocabulary notebook.

Please begin reading your book as soon as soon as you get it. Check your folder each night for papers to complete at home.

Penmanship Book- complete pages   by Thursday,9/15.

Tuesday-Read pages 6-9 in your textbook. On page 9, answer questions 1a, 1b, 2a, and 2b on looseleaf (full heading). Due Thursday, 9/15.
