Weekly Reminders:
These are a few reminders concerning homework and classwork:
A. All classwork/homework must be completed in blue or black ink (other colors will not be accepted).
B. If an assignment states that looseleaf is to be used, no other types of paper will be accepted (paper ripped out of notebooks or legal pads is unacceptable).
C. Homework must be handed in on the day due unless I receive a note from a parent explaining why you did not complete your HW. This will only be accepted if there is an emergency at home (not because you were too tired or that you had too much other HW).
D. Homework and classwork must be neat. Work that is sloppy or illegible will not be accepted.
E. Gym uniforms must be worn by 4th graders on Tuesdays and Fridays for gym unless students are told differently.
F. Mickey & Minnie Mouse Birthday Celebration-Friday November 17, 2017. Students may dress up as Mickey or Minnie Mouse for the day. There will be a costume contest at 2:00 PM for Grades 1-8 in the lunchroom. Parents are welcome to attend.
G. Canned Food Drive- Please send in as many canned foods as possible this week. Our school is collecting cans for the outreach program of St. Patrick’s Nursing Home in the Bronx. Cans will only be collected until Tuesday, 11/21.
H. Report Cards will be distributed next Monday, 11/20. There will be an Assembly at 2:15 in the lunchroom. Father Antonio will distribute Report Cards and Honor Certificates. Parents are welcome to attend.
I. Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held next Tuesday, 11/21 from 2:00-8:00. If you need to speak to any of the teachers concerning your child, please feel free to come during those hours. Also, please bring the Report Card with you.
J. Please check the blog daily for updated homework assignments or notifications.
Remember that homework and classwork count as a grade!

Performance Task: We will be working on the performance task in school this week. All narratives are due by tomorrow, Monday, November 13. They may be typed or handwritten (must be neat and no crossing out). Please follow the directions in your My Perspectives Textbook.
Homework for this week will be assigned during class.

Unit 6 A Growing America- 1850-1914 – Chapter 18: Americans Move West
Monday 11/13- Write new vocabulary words and their definitions in your vocabulary notebook, or in the section of your notebook where you keep your vocabulary words. Due Wednesday, 11/15
Tuesday 11/4- Read pages 593-599. On page 598, answer questions 1a, 2a, 3a, 3b. Restate the question in the answer and make sure you have a full heading, including Social Studies, your number, and the page number on your looseleaf. Due Thursday,11/16.
