GRADE
7-HOMEROOM
A. Please sign into
Google Classroom and press on the link for Zoom. You will stay connected from
8:00-3:00. Whatever teacher you have will let you know if you have a bathroom
break or lunch break. Please read Mr. Woods’ blog for rules about remote learning
(home). Attendance will be taken during each class. This link will be good for
the rest of the school year (2020-2021).
B. Remember
to wear a mask and bring your supplies each day.
C. If your child must leave school early or come in late due to
an appointment, please have them attend classes remotely.
D. Make sure
to read Mr. Woods's blog (school blog) for other important information.

Homework for Grade 6
My
Perspectives (savvasrealize.com)- Please review the story, vocabulary, and
concepts (word study and conventions) that we are working on in class.
We will be
working on Unit 2: Animal Allies
Essential Question: How can people and animals relate
to each other?
We will
continue reading the text My
Life with the Chimpanzees by Jane Goodall (memoir).
I will be
assigning homework in class for ELA since we will be using a variety of
materials such as My Perspectives, Voyages, Common Lit, No Red Ink, and The
Lightning Thief. We will be working on reading comprehension, writing, and
grammar this week.
1. Please make sure that you have The Lightning Thief by
Rick Riordan (2005) book each day for class.
2. Homework this week will be Common
Lit. See Google Classroom for details. Due Thursday, 2/25.
3. Remember to work on Edgenuity for ELA every day for at least 20 minutes. It is a good review for MAP testing. This is mandatory…not
optional.
4. You should read a
book of your choice each day for at least 20 minutes. This will help you
to learn more vocabulary and become more fluent.

Unit 2- Ancient Civilizations: Mesopotamia, Egypt, and Kush
Chapter 4: Civilizations in Egypt
Black History Month:
This week we will be discussing Black
History Month and the many African Americans that should be celebrated
during this month for their many contributions to our country.
Each student will be given the name to research and create a
presentation on Google Slides or PowerPoint. An outline will be posted on
Google Classroom in which the students will follow to create their slide
presentation. Each student will present their project to the class
(remote students will also present by sharing their screens with the other
students in the class. The projects are
due this Wednesday, February 24.
