WEEKLY REMINDERS:
GRADE 2 -HOMEROOM
A. Remember to wear a mask and bring your school supplies each day.
B. Gym is every Friday, so remember to wear your gym uniform.
C. Make sure to read Mr. Woods’ blog for other important information.
D. Title 1 Catapult Schedule:
Grades 1,
3, 6, 7 & 8 Mondays and Wednesdays 3:15-5:00
Grades K,
2, 4, and 5 Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:15-5:00
E. All students must enter through the lunchroom
in the morning and come to class from there. No one can enter through the
church or main door (where the bell is located).
F. Every morning the school doors
will be closed at 8:15 AM. Prayers will now begin at 8:30 AM. Anyone arriving at
school late (after 8:15) will not be allowed to enter due to COVID lockdown
restrictions. If your child has an appointment or must leave before 3:15 PM,
he/she must stay home for the day. Afternoon prayers will begin at 3:05 PM and
the 2nd Grade will be dismissed at 3:15 PM from the church. Students
in Title 1 or the Afterschool Program will go immediately to the lunchroom. Please
see the school blog for further information.
G. Progress Reports were sent home on Friday,
March 18. Please check your child’s ELA folder for it. Sign and send back to
school tomorrow. I will send it back to you as soon as I check the signatures.
Also please sign your child’s Science Test if you have not done so already.

ELA/Reading Homework for Grade 2
Ready Gen (savvasrealize.com)- We will be
reviewing short and long vowel sounds, consonant blends, and digraphs this
week. We will continue to review nouns, capitalization, punctuation, and
different types of sentences- statements, questions, and exclamations.
All
assignments must be submitted on the date due, or points will be deducted from
the grade.
Also make sure that your child has all necessary supplies each day, including sharpened pencils, looseleaf, notebooks, folders, highlighters, colored pencils, etc.

Please have your child bring a book to read to school for when
they complete their work early. It is important for comprehension, vocabulary
development, and fluency for your child to read independently.
Science Homework for Grade 2
Please write the vocabulary
words and definitions for Unit 3 Concept 3.2 in the Science Notebook. This is due
on Thursday, March 24. The words will be listed on Google Classroom.

They will need the same items next week for the real test.
Please feel free to print out past ELA exams to work on with your child at home. They can be found on the NYS website. Work on both Session 1 (Reading) and Session 2 (Reading and Writing).
