Reminders:

1. Please check Mr. Woods’ blog for information about I Ready, MAP testing, and other announcements.

2. Fifth grade need to wear gym uniforms every Wednesday.

3. Please check the blog and Google Classroom for updated homework assignments or announcements.

4. No school Friday, 2/17 due to a Religion Conference Day for teachers at Good Shepherd.

5. No school Monday, 2/20 in honor of Presidents’ Day.

Remember that homework and classwork count as a grade!

Week of February 13, 2017- Module 3 Week 3

               HOMEWORK GRADE 5
READING:
Lesson Plans

For Module 3, the fifth grade is reading Promises to Keep: How Jackie Robinson Changed America by Sharon Robinson.

Please read pages 17-27 by Tuesday, February 21.

Achieve 3000 – Remember to complete any Activity and Thought question assigned during the week because they are counted as a grade!

Write all new vocabulary on index cards. Words will not be accepted if they are not in a bag!  You will need a new Ziploc bag and index cards for Module 3. Words will be collected each Monday. If they are no new vocabulary words for the week, then nothing needs to be written on index cards.

Quiz next Friday, 2/24 on the book and all vocabulary for Module 3.


SOCIAL STUDIES:
Monday: Define the words below using the glossary in the back of the back or within the chapter. Write them in the Social Studies. Due Wednesday, 2/15.

Tuesday: Read pages 170-177 in textbook. On pages 178 and 179, answer questions #s 6-8 (draw the timeline, fill in the missing information on the timeline, and then answer the questions), #s 9-12 (restate), and #s 13-15 (question and complete answer, not just the letter) on loose-leaf. Remember to write a full heading on the loose-leaf and restate the question in the answer. Due Thursday,2/16.

New Vocabulary:

Map of Canada will be due on Wednesday, February 15.

Start working on your topic for African American Heritage Month. See Google Classroom for the format. Due Tuesday, February 21.
