Week of March 10, 2014

Reminders:
1. These are a few reminders concerning homework and classwork:
              
A. All work must be completed in blue or black ink (other colors will not be accepted).  

B. If the assignment states that looseleaf is to be used, no other types of paper will be accepted (paper ripped out of notebooks or legal pads is unacceptable.
   
C. Homework must be handed in on the day due, unless I receive a not from a parent explaining why you did not complete your HW. This will only be accepted if there is an emergency at home (not because you were too tired or that you had too much other HW). 

D. Homework and classwork must be neat. Work that is sloppy or illegible will not be accepted.

E. Gym for Grade 5 is on Thursday this week.

F. Friday, 3/14 No school due to a Teachers’ Conference.

G. All students may wear green on Monday, March 17th for St. Patrick’s Day.

H. Unit 4 Exams this week:
Monday- Reading and Writing in the Content Areas of Science, Social Studies, and Religion
Tuesday- Science and Religion
Wednesday- Reading and Social Studies
Thursday- Math and ELA
Friday- School Closed

Remember that homework and classwork count as a grade!

HOMEWORK: For the Week of March 10- Unit 5 Week 1

5th Grade Reading- The children will be reading Bull Run by Paul Fleischman for Unit 5.


Homework:

Monday- Review all Vocabulary Words for Unit 4.  Reading Unit Exam is on Wednesday.
Make sure you have finished reading Bud, Not Buddy.

Start reading Bull Run when you receive it.

Unit 5 Project will be due on Monday, March 24. More information will be given in class.

Start reading a The Westing Game when you receive it.

Unit 5 Project will be due on Monday, March 24. More information will be given in class.

Start reading A Wrinkle in Time when you receive it.

7th Grade Social Studies


Homework:  A Government for the New Nation (1771-1791)

Monday- Review all notes for Unit 4 for the Unit 4 Test on Wednesday.
Map of the Month is due next Tuesday, March 18 (no extensions).
Unit 5 Projects are due Monday, March 24.
