Reminders:
These are a few reminders concerning homework and classwork:
A. All work must be completed in blue or black ink (other colors will not be accepted).
B. If the assignment states that looseleaf is to be used, no other types of paper will be accepted (paper ripped out of notebooks or legal pads are unacceptable).
C. Homework must be handed in on the day due unless I receive a note from a parent explaining why you did not complete your HW. This will only be accepted if there is an emergency at home (not because you were too tired or that you had too much other HW).
D. Homework and classwork must be neat. Work that is sloppy or illegible will not be accepted.
E. Gym uniforms must be worn by 5th graders on Wednesdays for gym.
F. Extended Day classes -The fifth grade will attend extended day class for Math on Tuesday with Mr. Placido and on Wednesday for ELA with Ms. Serewko. The classes will begin at 3:00 and finish at 5:00.
G. Friday, 10/28 is Class Picture Day. All students must be in full uniform for the pictures.
H. Fifth Grade Students- Monday, 10/31 is Halloween. Our class will be having a party starting at lunchtime. We will be ordering pizza. Each child is asked to bring in $5 by Thursday,10/27 (unless they choose to not eat pizza). Each student should also bring in something to drink (for themselves) and something to share with the class such as cookies, cupcakes, donuts, candy, etc. Please let your child know what that will be bringing in, so everyone is not bringing the same thing. Also, the children may wear their costumes to school, but no weapons are allowed! Also, children will need to bring their bookbags since we will be having class in the morning.
I. Please check the blog daily for updated homework assignments or notifications. Make sure that you read Mr. Woods blog for other important announcements.
J. Books for Module 2 will be posted on the blog during this week. You can purchase or order the book(s) yourself, or I can order for you. If you need me to order, please have the money in to me on the date due. It takes about a week to process the order, and I don’t want other students to wait for their books.
Remember that homework and classwork count as a grade!
