1. Please remember to cover all soft-covered books.
2. Remember to read the purple assignment book and check the HW folder each night to know your child's homework for each day.
3. Your child needs to remember to bring all of their school supplies every day.
4. Please return all the forms given last week and make sure each one is filled out completely. There are two emergency cards and seven forms to complete.
5. Please sign the permission slip that is in the Homework Folder. This is just a general permission slip in case we go on any walking trips in the neighborhood.
6. Remember to read the September calendar for dismissal times and important events.
TESTS:
1.There will be a Vocabulary Test every Friday on 15 words created by all three teachers. Each teacher will give 5 words a week, which will be written in the Vocabulary NB. The children should study these words each night. On Friday there will be a test.
2. Almost every week the children will be given 15- 20 spelling words. They should review these words each night. There will be a Spelling Test on Friday and the children will need to write the words and also make sentences using the words. The spelling words will be written in the Reading NB.
VOCABULARY:
1. 5 words for the week (will be tested on Friday): skillet, fetched, mending, slender, connect. Check the Vocabulary NB for these words.
2. Reading Vocabulary Words from Officer Buckle and Gloria: department, audience, obeys, commands, expression, accident, noticed. Check the Reading NB for these words.
SPELLING:
Check Reading NB for these words.
sat, felt, last, send, next, best, went, hand, stand, past, grand, stamp, belt, lend, checked
Challenge Words: else, guest, attention, heard, listen
HOMEWORK:
Check the Purple Assignment Book every night for exact pages.
MONDAY: write each spelling word 5x each in the Reading NB. Please write a Heading on the top of the page.
TUESDAY: Write a sentence for spelling words 1-10 in Reading NB. (Include a Heading and underline each Spelling Word).
WEDNESDAY: Write a sentence for words 11-20. (Include a Heading and underline each Spelling Word.
THURSDAY: Study 15 vocabulary words in the Vocabulary NB and also the 20 Spelling Words. There will be a test for each tomorrow.
FRIDAY: Read for at least 30 minutes over the weekend. You can read any book or magazine that you like. JUST READ!!!!!!
