AIM: to build background for the Wild Shots and review vocabulary
LESSON: 1. The children will discuss animals and their natural environments. They will use their prior knowledge of photographers and animals to build background for the story.
2.The vocabulary for the story will be reviewed.
3. The class will read the story together and discuss the Think and Respond Questions.
HW: write a sentence for words 1-10 in Reading Notebook. Remember to underline the spelling word in each sentence.
Thurs. 2/19
AIM: to decode words with consonants /s/c and /j/dge and to classify word relationships.
LESSON:1. The children will review the sounds of /s/ and /j/.
2. They will write down the rules for each sound in their Reading NB .
3. The children will then review word relationships: synonyms, antonyms, homophones, and multiple meaning words.
HW: write a sentence for words 11-20 in the Reading NB. Underline each spelling word.
Friday 2/20
AIM: to take a spelling test on the words for this week
HW: Remember to read the book and make notes for the Book Test next week

LESSON:1. The children will write the different kinds of literature in their notebooks.
2. The children will review possessive nouns

LESSON:
1. The children will review possessive nouns.
2. They will then review singular and plural nouns.
3. The students will write the meaning and rules for forming plural possessive nouns.
4. They will do practice exercises to reinforce this concept.
HW: Lang. Arts pg. 109 Do questions 1-12. Write everything out in LA NB
Thurs. 2/19 No class due to computer class
HW: Language Arts pg. 111 1-5 Draw the chart then write the correct forms of each noun, and #s 6-10,write the sentence and add the correct possessive form of the singular or plural noun. Do in LA NB.

They will then do a listening comprehension activity. HW: write new spelling words 5x each in Reading NB TUES., 2/10/09 NO CLASS DUE TO GYM CLASS WEDS., 2/11/09 AIM: to draw conclusions from facts and details and also from using prior knowledge LESSON: The children will read different facts from stories and try to draw conclusions based on the facts and their prior knowledge of the subject. THURS. 2/12/09 AIM: to read and discuss Coyote School News LESSON: The class will read the selection together and stop at different points in the story for comprehension checks and also to try to draw conclusions. We will then look back in Coyote School news to try and find parts where the narrator is describing something.
