REMINDERS:
Remember to bring all school supplies everyday, including the homework.
Please check your child’s purple assignment book every night for HW and notes.
Please sign and return the tests handed out by Mr. Woods on Tuesday, 3/24 if you have not already done so.
A new book, Stuart Little, was given to the children to read on Weds. 3/25. Please make sure that they read for 30 mins. every day and make notes. The notes were started in the back of the Reading NB. There will be a test on this book on Friday, 4/24.

3. The class will reread the story of Marven of the Great North Woods together for fluency.
4. The class will discuss the main idea of the story and also review fact and opinion.

AIM: To review comprehension skills- main idea and recalling details

AIM: To introduce the new vocabulary for Marven of the Great North Woods
LESSON: 1.The students will review new vocabulary words and write in their Reading NB.
2. We will make a Venn diagram to describe similarities and differences of Lumbering in the Past and Lumbering Today.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 1
AIM: To review terms used to name parts of an advertisement.
LESSON: 1.The students will work on pgs. 79, 80 in their NYS Practice Book dealing with advertisements.

AIM: To work on creating an advertisement
LESSON: 1. Discuss how to advertise or announce certain events or products.
2. Discuss persuasion and how it is used to sell products or ideas.

FRIDAY, April 3-
NO CLASS DUE TO 2:30 DISMISSAL
HW: 1.Work on developing an advertisement. This will be due on Weds. 4/22. It will need to be presented and also turned in to be graded for neatness, creativity, and grammar.
2. Think of an idea for a commercial. Write down your topic and what you are trying to sell. This will be due on looseleaf on Tues. 4/21 (only the topic and what you are trying to sell). The commercial itself will be due to be presented on Thurs. 4/30.
3. Review pages 1-40 in the Grammar and Practice Handbook.
