WEEK OF MARCH 2, 2009 4TH GRADE

REMINDERS: 1.Remember to bring all school supplies everyday, including the homework. 2.Please check your child’s purple assignment book every night for HW and notes. 3.The children will be reading the Great Escape. The open book test for this book will be in approximately 3 weeks (Weds., March 25). The children should read for at least thirty minutes each day in order to finish the book in time. They should also take notes on important facts. The notes will be started in the back of the reading notebook so they will not be lost or forgotten. 4. How-to Article will be due Tuesday, 3/10. The children will be given a date as to when they will present it to the class. It will be between Tues., 3/10- Thurs., 3/12. 5. Newspaper Project will be due Monday, 3/9. Please see me if there is a problem. This will be presented to the class. . TESTS: 1. Vocabulary Test on Tuesday, 3/10 on the words from What Jo Did, Coyote School News, Grace and the Time Machine. All of the words for these stories are defined in the Reading Notebook. 2. Spelling Test on Tuesday 3/10 on the words below. The children will present their section of the class newspaper. It must also be written and handed in with each group member’s name on it. 2. LESSON: The students will work on pp. 79, 80 in their NYS Practice Book dealing with advertisements. HW: check purple assignment book FRIDAY, March 6 NO CLASS DUE TO 2:30 DISMISSAL HW: Do How-to chart, Newspaper Project, read book, study for Vocabulary Test and Spelling Test HAVE A GOOD WEEK!!!!
