Please read with your child each night, not only books required for school, but books that are chosen by your child for enjoyment.

AIM: To read the new story Johnny Appleseed and discuss details found in the story
LESSON: 1. Review the vocabulary for the story
2. Do a listening comprehension activity- listening to a poem called “Johnny Appleseed”

THURSDAY: APRIL 2
AIM: To review r-controlled vowels /ar/, /er/, /ir/, /or/, /ur/
LESSON: 1. We will practice the r-controlled vowels by doing practice in the phonics book.
2. We will review all vocabulary and high frequency words.

FRIDAY, APRIL 3 NO CLASS DUE TO STATIONS OF THE CROSS
HW: study vocabulary words, spelling words, and read book over the Easter Vacation. A good review would be to look over pages that we have done in the Reading Practice Book, Phonics Book, and Spelling Book. Please do not go ahead of us in the books. Just review the pages we have already done. If your child has missed and work due to being absent, feel free to complete those pages.

AIM: To write a paragraph on spring
LESSON: 1.The children will use a graphic organizer to plan a paragraph for spring.
2. The children will write a draft of their paragraph in the LA notebook.
HW: check purple assignment book
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 1
AIM: To review pronouns
LESSON: The children will review the meaning of a pronoun and do practice exercises in the Language Handbook.
HW: check purple assignment book
THURSDAY, APRIL 2
AIM: To review showing ownership (POSSESSIVE NOUNS AND PRONOUNS)
LESSON: The children will review the meaning of a possessive noun and complete practice exercises in the Language Handbook .
FRIDAY, APRIL 3- NO CLASS DUE TO 3RD GRADE EASTER PARTY.
HW: please review capitalization, punctuation, types of sentences, abbreviations, nouns (proper, common, singular, plural, possessive), pronouns over the Easter Vacation. These can all be found in the Language Arts Handbook.
