WEEK OF MARCH 9, 2009 4TH GRADE
REMINDERS:
Remember to bring all school supplies everyday, including the homework.
Please check your child’s purple assignment book every night for HW and notes.
The children will be reading the Great Escape. The open book test for this book will be in approximately 3 weeks. The children should read for at least thirty minutes each day in order to finish the book in time. They should also take notes on important facts. The notes will be started in the back of the reading notebook so they will not be lost or forgotten.
How-to Article will be due Weds., 3/11. The children will be presenting it to the class between Weds., 3/11- Thurs., 3/12. This will count as a speech, writing, and homework grade.
Newspaper Project was due today, 3/9. Please see me if there is a problem. This will be presented to the class today and tomorrow. This will count as a speech, writing, and homework grade.
TESTS:
1. Vocabulary Test on Wednesday 3/11 on the words from What Jo Did, Coyote School News, Grace and the Time Machine. All of the words for these stories are defined in the Reading Notebook.
2. Spelling Test on Tues. 3/10 on the words below

LESSON: 1. All vocabulary words and spelling words will be reviewed for the test
2. The each group will present their part of the newspaper
HW: Read book; study for vocabulary and spelling tests, and complete the how-to article.
TUESDAY: March 10
AIM: No class due to Title IID meeting.
WEDNESDAY: March 11
AIM: To present how-to projects and complete a vocabulary test.
LESSON: The children will demonstrate how to make something or teach how to do something.
HW: see purple assignment book
THURSDAY: March 12
AIM: To present how-to projects
LESSON: The children will continue to present their how-to projects
HW: read The Great Escape
